Course Overview

With energy costs on the rise, the need for energy efficiency increases in importance. In the course, we will visit the importance of Energy Efficiency, how being energy efficient pays off in the long run, its effects on the environment and the steps that Singapore is taking to improve energy efficiency.

Course Objectives
  1. Define Energy Efficiency: By the end of the course, participants will be able to define and explain the concept of energy efficiency, including its importance and benefits.
  2. Identify Activities for Better Energy Efficiency: Participants will be able to identify and describe specific activities and practices that contribute to improved energy efficiency in various settings, such as homes, offices, and industries.
  3. Recognize the Significance of Energy Efficiency: Participants will gain an understanding of why energy efficiency is crucial in today's context of rising energy costs. They will be able to articulate the economic, social, and environmental benefits associated with energy efficiency.
  4. Analyze the Impact on the Environment: Participants will explore the relationship between energy efficiency and its positive impact on the environment. They will understand how reducing energy consumption and implementing energy-efficient technologies can mitigate climate change and reduce carbon emissions.
  5. Understand Singapore's Initiatives: Participants will recall and discuss the specific steps that Singapore is taking to improve energy efficiency. They will gain insights into the policies, programs, and initiatives implemented by the government and other stakeholders to promote energy efficiency in the country.
